Each fall, Lake County Farm Bureau hosts Punkin Chunkin — a one-of-a-kind community event that combines creativity, competition, and agricultural education.

​​FFA teams and community challengers compete to see who can launch a pumpkin the farthest using homemade trebuchets, catapults, and other inventive contraptions. It’s a lively celebration of teamwork, innovation, and local agriculture.

​

What to Expect:

• 🎯 Pumpkin launching competitions featuring student and open division teams

• 🍔 Local food from partner organizations 

• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A family-friendly atmosphere full of laughter, learning, and fall cheer

 

Punkin Chunkin is a great way to support youth agricultural programs like FFA and celebrate our county’s rural traditions.
